Chase and Status fourth album was a departure from their previous sound. Known for their intense drum and bass sound, their forth album geared more towards darker concepts like anarchy and loss.
We decided to connect this concept with the hangman. A seemingly innocent game from childhood with darker intentions.
The first execution of this new style was with “Control” the release of their first single on their new album. At the time, the hangman visual had not been released. When asked to animate the artwork, I recreated the visual as if playing a game of hangman. This technique and style was then repeated and modified moving forward.
“Spoken Word” was their second release off the album. The lyrics from the song are so incredibly powerful that I created a lyric video to promote the release of the single.
